The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday gave two more weeks to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for submitting documents in prohibited funding case and adjourned hearing of the case till September 19, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A four-member bench of the ECP conducted hearing of the case and asked from Shah Khawar, a lawyer for the PTI, that what his preparations are for submitting the documents sought by the ECP.
“We are to receive some information from the party’s foreign chapter. It will be better if we are given two more weeks,” Shah Khawar said.
“Will this record submission also take eight years?” questioned an ECP member.
“This is 10 years old record. We want to give you proper documents,” stated Shah Khawar.
At this, the ECP bench gave two more weeks to the PTI’s lawyer for submitting the documents. “Submit you reply before two weeks so that arguments in the case could be initiated,” it said to him.
