LHC commends Punjab govt for determining pricing mechanism

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday commended the Punjab caretaker government for determining and implementing the price mechanism of essential commodities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the petition regarding price fixing, the Punjab government submitted a notification of the pricing mechanism of the food items.
The court also granted the right of appeal to the parties affected by the committee's notification.
Additionally, the court appreciated Additional Advocate General Chaudhry Jawad Yaqoob for his efforts.
A single bench of the LHC issued an interim order on March 31 related the determination of prices.
The notification of the pricing mechanism was made a part of the court order as well.
The Interim Order states that free flour distribution should be carried out while taking Islamic law and Articles 9 and 14 of the Constitution into consideration.
It is important to define a process that prevents the deserving individuals' self-respect from being damaged.
