Preparations are under way for engagement of Junaid Safdar, son of Maryam Nawaz and grandson of three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif, with the daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman, former head of now defunct Accountability Bureau.

According to reports, Saif-ur-Rehman's daughter is a graduate from a London college. Saif-ur-Rehman, a self-exiled Pakistani politician currently living in Qatar, has been a close aide of Nawaz Sharif during his first and second term in power. He headed the Accountability Bureau during Sharif's second term as prime minister. He was also elected senator from the PML-N platform.
