Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) protests and sit-ins against inflation and electricity bills continue in Rawalpindi’ Liaquat Bagh and outside Governor House in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

JI chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman addressing the participants of the sit-in said that JI will continue to bring the true image of the country. He said that on August 8, JI will start a march on Murree Road. He said JI sit-ins were not losing momentum rather gaining new energy day by day as “our mothers and sisters are present with their children in this sit-in”.

Hafiz Naeem said currently, JI was consulting with the traders and soon a nationwide strike of the traders will be announced. He said after August 14, it may be announced that public will be advised not to submit bills. JI chief urged the government to realize that “people are waking up.”

He said “if the government takes away the sustenance of people's children, you are forcing them to commit suicide”. Hafiz Naeem urged the government to learn a lesson from Bangladesh. “If it does not happen, you will not get respite.” Hafiz Naeem said Hasina Wajid got the helicopter, but you won’t find a way to reach the airport. If there is a forensic audit of IPPs, everything ill be clear. He said PPP-PML-N made these cruel agreements and they were afraid to reveal the details of the accords.

Hafiz Naeem said those who ruined the economy must be brought to the book. He urged the protestors to get ready for a long struggle which will remove the obstacles.

He urged the government to abolish withholding tax and other taxes on salaried employees immediately. JI chief made it clear that a mere assurance will not end the sit-in. “D Chowk is not far from us, but we do not want bloodshed.” He said it's time to say goodbye to free petrol culture in the country.
