Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa has said that despite having differences with judiciary, it commands respect and reverence, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Chief Justice was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Inauguration of Federal Judicial Academy's E-Campus in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Chief Justice said that despite having a difference of opinion with the judiciary, judiciary commands respect and deference.
Addressing the ceremony, he conveyed his best wishes for the success of Federal Judicial Academy. He said that the Federal Judicial Academy is the best source of communication.
CJP Isa rued that the judicial staff do not get the importance which they deserve.
The Chief Justice asked the High Courts that they too should arrange for the training of their staff in academies. He said there are 3,200 judges in the country.
He said that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has given important suggestions in this regard. He held that training programs are going on in the academy.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan was of the view that a better system of justice would reduce the burden of cases. He said that High Courts are the supervisor of the subordinate judiciary.
He said that the district courts play an important role in the transparency of judicial system.
He advised the judges to give respect to lawyers. He told the audience that as a lawyer, he had never resented a decision which did not come in his favour. “A man always remembers the treatment meted out to him.”
He said that he is very happy with the use of technology. He expressed his satisfaction that the use of technology is getting currency in the Supreme Court.
He said that being the Chief Justice of Pakistan, he allowed the live streaming of SC (Practice and Procedure) case for the first time in country’s history. He said that through the live broadcast, a common citizen will also witness that justice is being done. This practice will bring more transparency in the justice system, the top judge observed.
Chief Justice Isa opined that technology is an important source of knowledge like pen.
He said that he found that he is the chairman of the Federal Judicial Academy after becoming Chief Justice of Pakistan. He said that important personalities are members of the board, adding that the Federal Judicial Academy is working under a strong board.
