Hammad Azhar’s papers for NA seat rejected, PA seat accepted

An election tribunal in Lahore has rejected the nomination papers of PTI leader Hammad Azhar for National Assembly constituency NA 129 but accepted his papers for a Punjab Assembly constituency PP 171, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The proposers and seconders of Hammad Azhar and his father Mian Azhar appeared before the tribunal. After which, the judge accepted the nomination papers of Hammad Azhar (from PP 171) and his father Mian Azhar.
Tribunal judge, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad today annulled the decision of the returning officer who rejected the papers of the father-son duo when their proposers and seconders did not appear before him.
Earlier, the nomination papers of PTI leader Hammad Azhar and social media activist Sanam Javed were rejected.
Appellate Tribunal judge Justice Tariq Nadeem pronounced the verdict in the case.
The tribunal dismissed Hammad Azhar's appeal from NA 129 while upholding the decision of the returning officer.
Similarly, the Appellate Tribunal of the Lahore High Court dismissed Sanam Javed's appeals against the rejection of her papers from constituencies NA 119, NA 120 and PP 150.
Tribunal Judge Justice Tariq Nadeem upheld the RO's decision to reject Sanam’s nomination papers while deciding the case.
It should be noted that Sanam Javed had submitted papers from NA 119 and 120 while declaring to contest the election from jail. She announced to contest the election against Maryam Nawaz.
