The accountability court has pronounced that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was politically victimization as the previous government had forced the National Accountability Bureau to lodge a reference against him to ruin his political career, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Accountability Court judge Rao Abdul Jabbar Khan on Thursday issued a written decision on 27 different applications related to Nawaz Sharif’s acquittal in a plot allotment reference.
As per the judgement, Nawaz Sharif was made target of political victimization and the NAB was forced by the previous government to make a reference against him to destroy his political career.
Nawaz Sharif was elected prime minister of this country for three times and the court ordered for his acquittal.
The court’s judicial assistant raised a question that the relief which was granted to the main accused, should have also been granted to Nawaz Sharif.
The judgement further stated that the law is very clear on it that whatever relief granted to the main accused should have been given to Nawaz Sharif. As per the law, the proclaimed offender gets the same punishment or relief which the main accused receives.
In the light of the Supreme Court's decision, Nawaz Sharif should have received the same relief as was given to other accused.
The judgement ordered the NAB and Revenue Board to release the properties of Nawaz Sharif and other applicants in the case.
The court also directed to send a copy of its order to the NAB chairman and others.
Judicial Assistant Hafiz Asadullah raised the question that the statement of the compliance officer who went to comply with the notices for declaring Nawaz Sharif as a proclaimed offender was not recorded.
According to Asadullah, full procedure was not adopted for declaring Nawaz a PO, adding that the process to declare Nawaz Sharif as an absconder was not in accordance with the law.
