Karachi Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab Tuesday said with timely measures, citizens of Karachi will not face any problems during the monsoon season, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Murtaza Wahab has visited the rainwater drains and went on to say that Falak Naz drains to be cleaned on a priority basis.

Murtaza Wahab said rainwater from Star Gate and the airport flows through this drain into the Azeempura drain, adding the process of drain cleaning should be completed before the rain.

Today work is underway on 28 drains in different areas of Karachi, said Murtaza Wahab.

Murtaza Wahab said in addition to the city's 41 major canals, the district municipal corporation should complete the cleaning of small canals within its boundaries.

Murtaza went on to say all local bodies should keep in touch with each other regarding the monsoon season and adopt a joint strategy.

Murtaza said on rainy days, all agencies should work together to deal with any emergency.

Liaison Board, Civil Aviation Authority, DHA and other agencies should also be contacted, he added.
