UK court has rejected fugitive Adil Raja’s appeal to waive a 10,000 pound fine in the defamation case filed by Brigadier (r) Rashid Naseer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
British Court Judge Mr Richards Spearman further directed Adil Raja to pay another 3000 pounds to Brigadier Rashid, the plaintiff in the British court, who told the court that Adil Raja had not yet paid the 10,000 pounds fine despite the court’s order.
British court had earlier ordered Adil Raja to pay 10,000 pounds to the plaintiff Brigadier (retired) Rashid Naseer in the defamation case and security costs.
The court had declared that Adil Raja defamed Rashid Naseer in nine of his Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
Adil Raja was given time till April 17, 2024, to pay this amount, but he filed an appeal on April 16 for the remission of the penalty.
It has been proved that the British court was not satisfied with the position of Adil Raja after his appeal for amnesty was also rejected.
Adil Raja started his campaign against the officer on June 14, 2022, through tweets and videos on YouTube and Facebook.
According to information obtained from court documents, Brigadier Rashid filed his case on August 11, 2022, through his British lawyers.
