Woman passenger killed, 40 injured in train accident near Rohri

A woman passenger was killed and five other passengers were injured when the Lahore-bound Karachi Express met with an accident near Rohri on Saturday night.
According to police, five coaches of the Karachi Express derailed, turned upside down and later fell in a ditch near the Mando Dairo Railway Station in the Sukkur District. Police said that several passengers were trapped in the derailed coaches and rescuers were facing difficulties in rescuing the trapped passengers due to darkness.
Officials of the Pakistan Railways said that rail traffic on both sides of the track was suspended after the accident. They said that a rescue train had been dispatched to the scene of the accident to take part in the rescue and relief operation.
