FIA cybercrime wing cracked down on fake SMS mafia as it has on Monday decided to contact Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to trace the culprits of mobile message fraud, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per sources, the secret IP of the accused who sent fake messages will be obtained from PTA.

The messages which look like the official message will also be tracked, with the help of PTA officials.

The record of fraudulent messages in the name of various reward schemes including Benazir Income Support Program will also be tracked. It is pertinent to note that the numerous complaints of hacking social media applications, including banking fraud, were received from ordinary citizens through messages.
