A picture of British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner carrying bags of litter went viral Friday.

The netizens admired the gesture of the high commissioner as well as criticized the people who do not care for the cleanliness.

Christian Turner picked up trash during his morning walk. He tweeted two pictures. His tweet read, “Another #FridayMorningWalk, another two bags of litter. Safaai nisf imaan hai.”

His tweet has been retweeted 3488 times so far while it was quoted 858 times. The netizens appreciated Christian Turner for his kind gesture towards the environment. Some, however, criticized the government as well as slammed the litterers.

“We are grateful to you but actually this is the job of the administration and CDA we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and appreciate your support,” wrote Asad Ansari in response of the Tweet of the British high commissioner.

Another netizen Rina S Khan writes, “Just found out Monal restaurant has been selling food as takeaway to public & people have been eating food in forest & picnic spots nearby & chucking waste during Ramzan. It’s criminal! Monal is an illegally constructed restaurant adding to the pollution of MHNP! We need to shut it!”

In another tweet, Cristian Turner writes, “Meals are sharing not littering. Two bags of rubbish collect on Margallas #FridayMorningWalk- Please help keep beautiful Islamabad clean.”

Cristian tagged the DC Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat in his tweet who responded the tweet with “great”.

The netizens, then, started criticizing the DC. One of the Twitter users Umar Aftaab Butt wrote, “Since you must have passed CCS, it is expected that you will have at least the requisite IQ to understand why he has tagged you? Hint: not for appreciation.”

Another netizen said, “Another embarrassing day in the capital, Ramazan, Jumatul Widaa and an inspiring foreign diplomat trying to reach us a basic covenant…Again.”
