Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq Monday called an "urgent meeting" of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the Israel-Gaza war, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

JI Ameer is in Tehran on the first leg of his tour of Iran, Turkey, and Qatar.

During his meetings with Ayatollah Shahriari and Ayatollah Rahimian, Haq expressed the high expectations of the Muslim people from the Iranian government.

Haq emphasized the critical need for unity among rulers of Islamic nations to support the oppressed Palestinian people.

Sirajul Haq warned that a failure to act during this dire situation would result in accountability by the Ummah and history itself.

He stressed that the silence of governments in the face of the Palestinian crisis is equivalent to inviting the wrath of the Muslim populace.

He advocated for tangible, practical steps to be taken, rather than relying solely on statements and agreements, in order to alleviate the ongoing suffering in Gaza.

During his visit to Iran, Turkey, and Qatar, he will engage with prominent political and religious leaders, as well as leaders of Islamic movements, to explore ways to address the humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Palestine.

He is also set to attend a leadership meeting of Islamic movements on November 9 and 10.

Furthermore, Haq is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting with Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Khalid Meshaal, as he seeks to persuade authorities in the three countries he is visiting to take concrete measures to protect Palestinians from Israeli atrocities.

Haq also highlighted the efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami within Pakistan to bring attention to the Palestine issue. The JI has organized Gaza Million Marches in Karachi and Islamabad to mobilize public opinion and encourage action from political leaders, he added.
