ECC okays issuance of new licences for CNG stations

The federal cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) latest meeting was held under the chair of Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Wednesday which approved the issuance of new CNG stations licences, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The TV channel reported that the ECC meeting decided to provide LNG to CNG stations and for that the government will charge Rs69 billion from gas consumers.
In the latest development, the Ministry of Industries and Production retrieved a price hike summary of the Utility Stores and it has now been decided that prices of sugar, oil and flour will remain the same.
The ECC has also formed a three-member committee to import wheat from Russia. The committee comprised Secretary Finance, Secretary Trade and Secretary Food and it is entitled to negotiate with Russia for wheat import.
Earlier on September 23, ECC meeting approved an amount of 3850 million rupees for the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills for the financial year 2020-21 to be disbursed every month.
The meeting decided to seek a detailed report from the Ministry of Industries and Production on the nature of liabilities due to PSM on account of retirement dues, the liabilities that will accrue as a result of the retrenchment plan and other expenditures on account of utilities or any other charges due on PSM.
