In a tragic disclosure of the deaths of 13 family members in Khairpur, local police have apprehended a young woman and her accomplice in connection with the brutal crime reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The shocking revelation surfaced that Shaishta, a daughter of the family, had poisoned her entire household after her family rejected her desire to marry her love interest.
According to the police, Shaishta, along with her accomplice, Amir Bakhsh Brohi, confessed to lacing the family’s food with poison.
The duo admitted that their motive was rooted in their wish to marry, which was opposed by both their families.
During the initial interrogation, they revealed how this opposition escalated into a sinister plot.
In an exclusive confession obtained by 24 News, Shaishta disclosed, "Amir Bakhsh and I were in love, and he brought me the poison."
She explained how Amir had encouraged her to go through with the plan, stating, "Let’s poison your family, and then we will get married."
Following this, Shaishta mixed poison into the family’s wheat, leading to the deaths of her entire family, including Amir Bakhsh’s father.
The gruesome incident took place on August 17 in Pir Jo Goth area, when the family members, including laborer Gul Beg, his wife, eight children, and other relatives, consumed the fatal meal. The ages of the deceased children ranged between 4 and 20 years.
The post-mortem report later confirmed that the victims had been deliberately poisoned.
Amir Bakhsh chillingly stated, “If your father and my father die, then we will get married,” further underlining the extent of their plot.
A case has been registered against Shaishta and Amir Bakhsh.
