NA speaker seeks clerics help in fight against coronavirus

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has appealed to the religious scholars of all schools of thought to cooperate with the government in containing the spread of the coronavirus.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said we are in contact with the delegations of Tableeghi Jamaat and those representing Zaireens to address their problems on a priority basis. All the relevant ministries have been given directions in this regard. 

The speaker said we will work on war footing to bring back the stranded Pakistanis abroad including Zaireen. Asad Qaiser said precautionary measures need to be taken to defeat this pandemic.  He said the people should spend Shab-e-Barat in their homes and offer special prayers and nawafils, seeking God Almighty’s blessings to rid the humanity of this virus.

Asad Qaiser assured the people that the state will fulfill its responsibility in the present circumstances and will not disappoint them. He; however, stressed that we will have to collectively surmount this challenge.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri said we are taking on board the religious scholars in order to address misperceptions about coronavirus and control its spread. He said Shab-e-Barat is the night of blessings and the people should offer their special prayers and nawafils at homes as a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus.
