Lahore remains labeled as the most polluted city in the world as the smog engulfed the city on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The pollution in the city grew to an alarming level as the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded to be at 273.

The AQI in the area of Johar Town and Model Town were recorded to be 298 being the highest making these areas the most polluted in the whole city and that of Kot Lakhpat was recorded to be at 296.

The smog attacked the citizens as they started falling ill suffering from irritation in eyes, nose and throat and flu, cold and fevers.
