Wahab Riaz rules out Naseem Shah for NZ tour

Sports Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board's chief selector Wahab Riaz Thusrday met the team participating in the Asian Youth Scrabble Championship and presented them with Pakistan colour shirts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pakistan Chess Federation President Hanif Qureshi also handed over the award received by the World Chess Federation to Wahab Riaz.
Riaz praised the performance of the Scrabble team and encouraged them to do well in the upcoming championship. He said he was pleased to meet the young players and wished them all the best.
He also spoke to the media about the cricket team's preparations for the tour of New Zealand.
He said that Naseem Shah, who is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program, is not under consideration for the tour. He said that the selection committee will meet on December 12 or 13 to finalize the squad and a camp will be set up for the players.
He said that the committee gives NOC to any player after considering all the issues and that Shan Masood's performance as captain was promising.
He said that Masood is an ideal character and his performance is important for the team. He added that the selection committee has decided to prepare a backup for all the three formats.
