The Lahore High Court Monday directed DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar to submit a detailed report regarding the recovery of former MPA Ahsan Riaz Fatiana, who has been reported missing, reported 24NewsHSD TV channel.
The court ordered Asghar to reappear on October 25 with the findings.
Justice Ali Zia Bajwa, presiding over the petition filed by Ms. Ashfa Riaz, Ahsan Riaz Fatiana's wife, expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the investigation.
During the hearing, DIG Investigation briefed the court, but Justice Bajwa remarked that the police efforts appeared inadequate.
“You had to be summoned because of the illness of SSP Kent. If the case is being handled like this, what will be the outcome?” Justice Bajwa questioned the DIG.
Ms. Ashfa Riaz, along with her legal counsel, was present in court during the proceedings. DIG Asghar requested one week to personally oversee the investigation, assuring the court of progress in the matter.
The court adjourned the hearing until October 25, awaiting the investigation report.
