We live in a country where, sometimes, human lives are hard to protect. So it’s not easy having a dialogue on the rights of animals. However, times are changing and people are paying attention to the well-being and protection of animals.
Although it’s not an easy task to spread awareness about animal rights, support from influential and famous people always helps. Similarly, Pakistani celebrities have started acknowledging the cause and spreading awareness.
Recently Popular Television actress Yashma Gill took to her twitter to support animal rights. She urged to end the concept of Zoo.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “Can we put an end to the whole concept of having a zoo altogether? if not then please leave a comment giving me one logical reason as to how the benefits outbalance the cost: The cost of being unfair to animals by keeping them away from their natural habitats.”
Earlier, Bahria Town Zoo came under fire because of a bear who is in a sorry condition and struggling to cope with high unbearable temperature.
Even the enclosure where the bear is kept is not suitable for such animals. In fact, most of the enclosures in the zoo are inadequate and reportedly do not meet the standard operating procedure (SOP).
He sits in a concrete enclosure at Bahria Town Zoo in temperatures of up to 40C (104F) and is said to have been depressed.
Visitors have taken video at the zoo showing the bear pacing around his cage nonstop, burying his face in his paws and sprawling out on the floor, refusing to move.
