A resolution was submitted in the Punjab Assembly (PA) on Saturday, condemning barring Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif from travelling abroad despite the Lahore High Court (LHC) orders on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The resolution submitted by PML-N’s Hina Pervez Butt reads that this House strongly condemns disallowing opposition leader in NA from travelling abroad by the airport staff.
The resolution further reads that by doing so, the Civil Aviation Department, interior ministry and the federal government had committed contempt of court.

“The LHC had allowed Shehbaz to go abroad, and the airport staff had ‘lied’ by saying that his status had not been updated,” the resolution concludes.
