Four-day Thal Desert Jeep Rally to start on Thursday

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday gave a go-ahead signal to the Eighth Thal Desert Jeep Rally, which will be held from November 9 and November 12, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The trophy for the event will be unveiled today.
The meeting, presided over by the chief minister, was briefed that over 100 professional and amateurs, including women, will participate in the rally, in which the participants will have to cover a distance of 200 kilometers between Layyah and Kot Addu.
The meeting was told that the rally will start from a suburban area of Chobara, an area in Layyah district.
The participants will be registered on November 9. Their medical checkup and the inspection of their vehicles will also take place on the same day.
It was informed that food stalls will also be set up along the route of the rally.
Besides that, Kabbadi competitions will also be a feature of the event. A cultural show, a puppet show, a magic show, Qawwali night, will also be organized to entertain both the participants and the audience.
The CM ordered making the best possible arrangements for the rally.
He, on the occasion, also tasked the police and other law-enforcement agencies with providing security to the participants.
Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Amir Mir, Assistant to CM Wahab Riaz, secretaries information, tourism, DG Sports and other concerned officials were in attendance while the commissioner and RPO Dera Ghazi Khan attended the meeting via a video link.
