Sudden suspension of cellphone services catches Karachites by surprise

People of Karachi found themselves in an awkward situation when the signals of several cellphone companies, especially of Zong and Telenor, were jammed on Saturday, just a day before the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to 24News, a citizen complained that he was surprised that cellphone services were suspended without any prior notification. “This is akin to the sudden blockade of roads in the port city, which leave motorists searching for alternate routes for hours,” he regretted.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), on the other hand, said the matter was not in its knowledge.

On the other hand, there will be a partial suspension of cellphone services along the route of main procession to be taken out on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) tomorrow.
DC Lahore said that the home department had been intimated about the decision.
