Punjab government has given approval of funds of Rs5 billion for improvement and up-gradation of treatment facilities in major hospitals of Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The decision was taken in the 29th meeting of the provincial cabinet, chaired by caretaker chief minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday.

The cabinet also gave formal approval to rent out the lawn of Punjab House Karachi for events to increase revenue and the lawn of Punjab House Karachi can be rented for events at Rs300000.

In this regard, the cabinet also gave approval to enter into an agreement with a major hotel chain regarding renting out the lawn for events.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore will be the administrator of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore.

It also was instructed in the meeting to further improve the financial assistance package for the families of Government servants who die in service.

However, the package of financial assistance should be presented for approval in the next meeting of the cabinet, said CM Mohsen Naqvi.

He said that standard treatment and rehabilitation facilities will be provided to kidney, psychological and drug-addicted patients.

The cabinet has approved setting standards for MSDS in dialysis, psychiatric and addiction centres.

The cabinet also gave approval for the devolution of powers to union councils under the "Ab Gaon Chamkein Ge" programme.

The cabinet approved the recruitment procedure for DG and other posts of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA).

Cabinet also gave approval of the special performance and audit reports of the accounts of the Punjab government and district governments for the years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The cabinet gave approval to the reports of the Council of Islamic Ideology.

Provincial Ministers, Advisors, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Advocate General of Punjab and related officials attended the meeting.
