Special flight to bring back 180 Pakistanis stranded in Lebanon

In order to bring back thousands of Pakistanis stranded in Lebanon due to a war between Hezbollah and Israel, the government has allowed the operation of a special flight for their evacuation from the strife-torn country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials have said that 180 Pakistanis would return home onboard an airbus-320 in the next 48 hours.

The officials have also informed that Pakistan’s ambassador in Lebanon has been informed about the government’s decision.

Hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel have now turned into an all-out war as both sides claim to have caused massive loss of lives and properties to each other.

Turkey to evacuate citizens from Lebanon on Wednesday

Turkey is sending ships to evacuate around 2,000 of its citizens from Lebanon on Wednesday, the foreign ministry said.

Two Turkish navy ships will leave a port in southern Turkish province of Mersin for Beirut on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.

Turkey is estimated to have 14,000 citizens registered with its consulate in Lebanon.

Turkish officials said they had drawn up contingency plans to evacuate their citizens from Lebanon because of the deteriorating security situation on the ground.

Last week, the foreign ministry said guidelines for the evacuation of third countries' citizens via Turkey have also been determined, adding that necessary preparations were underway in cooperation with nearly 20 countries that have requested support.–AFP
