Cash distribution under govt’s Ehsaas Program begins

Pakistan government flagship Ehsas Emergency Cash Program has been started on Thursday distribution of Rs12,000 per family through 17,000 payment points being established countrywide as part of special protective measures in view of the COVID-19.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched the project last week with assurance to pubic that the distribution of funds will be totally merit-based, transparent and non-political.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Dr Sania Nishtar  Wednesday said 17,000 centres have been set up to facilitate Ehsaas Emergency Cash payment of Rs12,000/ family.

As per the approved project details, Rs144 billion will be distributed among 12mn deserving families that have been economically crunched amid the COVId-19 country lockdown.

In another tweet, she highlighted the various centres of cash collection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She tweeted, “These highlights are from the Emergency Payment Centers established in the Bunn and Lakki Marwat government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

Reforming Punjab account highlighting the Punjab government projects also tweet, “Cash Disbursement of 12,000 Rs under Ehsaas Programme started in all districts of Punjab. District admin, Police & Forces are ensuring arrangements as per Social distancing SOPs. Total 44 Lac families to get the amount under Ehsaas and 25 Lac.”
