A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK 747 departed Madinah about 19 hours late as it was stuck at the airport due to some technical faults.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, there are more than 300 elderly pilgrims on the plane.
The PIA flight was scheduled to take off for Madinah on Saturday night but was halted due to a technical glitch.
PIA officials have issued directives that the boarding of the passengers will start as the technical fault has been removed.
They further said after the completion of the boarding process the plane will take off for Madinah after 12:00 noon Sunday.
Two days ago more than 160 passengers had also faced inconvenience after Serene Air’s flight ER-502 from Karachi to Islamabad suddenly developed a technical problem at the take-off stage.
According to aviation sources, the Serene Air flight, which was scheduled to depart at 12 noon, could not depart due to the technical fault. The plane’s air-conditioner also stopped working due to the technical fault.
The aircraft was removed from the runway and brought to the parking lot whereas the passengers were also shifted to the lounge. The flight flight took off at 4pm after fixing the technical glitch in the plane.
