The Sindh government has announced a 50 million rupee reward for Pakistani Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal in the javelin throw at the Olympics.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab made this announcement on behalf of the Sindh government, expressing their pride in Arshad's achievement.
In addition to the monetary reward, the mayor also announced the establishment of a sports academy in Karachi named after Arshad Nadeem.
The Sindh government’s spokesperson and the Mayor of Sukkur further promised to pay tribute to Arshad Nadeem with a golden crown in recognition of his historic victory.
Furthermore, the Sindh government has pledged to name the under-construction New Sports Stadium after Arshad Nadeem as a tribute to his success.
Punjab Governor announces Rs2mn reward for national hero
Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan also announced a reward of Rs2 million for national hero Arshad Nadeem, who made history by breaking the javelin throw record at the Paris Olympics.
Upon his return to Pakistan, Arshad Nadeem will be invited to the Governor's House in Lahore. Governor Salim praised Arshad Nadeem for raising the national flag high on the global stage, stating that no amount of recognition would be enough to honour his achievement.
He commended Arshad Nadeem for his hard work, determination, and courage, noting that his gold medal win at the Olympics serves as an inspiring example for the youth of Pakistan.
Governor Tessori announces one million rupees reward;
Separately, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has announced a reward of one million rupees for Arshad Nadeem, the gold medallist in the javelin throw.
Congratulating the national athlete, Governor Tessori praised Arshad for his remarkable achievement, noting that his 92.97-meter throw set a new record.

Arshad Nadeem expressed his joy over the victory, saying that he was in rhythm and confident of winning the gold medal. He mentioned his hopes of celebrating August 14 with a gold medal, emphasising that it was his day and that he could have achieved an even longer throw. Arshad extended his gratitude to the entire nation, the Pakistan Olympic Association, and his coach for their support.
Mother says her son made nation proud
Arshad's mother, proud of her son's accomplishment, stated that he has brought immense honour to the nation. She plans to greet him with flowers upon his return from the Paris Olympics, where he made history.
Celebrations at Arshad Nadeem's house in Mian Channu
In Mian Channu, Arshad Nadeem's hometown, celebrations erupted as citizens and relatives gathered to rejoice in his victory.
The jubilant crowd thanked God for the national hero's success and prayed for his continued achievements.
