The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will take out a motorcycle rally from its Model Town secretariat to Minar-e-Pakistan, the venue of an anti-government public meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), on December 13.
PML-N senior leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will address the rally. All PML-N MPAs and MNAs will be bound to contribute 300 motorcyclists each to the rally from their constituencies. MNA Malik Riaz will provide 3,000 party flags to party workers that will be carried to the rally.
Faisal Khokhar and Khurram Rohail Asghar will lead the youth rally, which will be later addressed by Saad Rafique and Ayaz Sadiq at Minar-e-Pakistan. Rana Mubashir Iqbal has been tasked with arranging food for PML-N workers participating in the motorcycle rally.
PDM, an alliance of 11 opposition political parties currently trying to dislodge the government of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, is going to hold its rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on December 13.
PDM Chairman Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday ruled out talks with the government and said all opposition parliamentarians would submit their resignations to their parliamentary leaders by December 31.
