FIA arrests five ‘impersonators’ from Jhang

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle, Faisalabad has arrested five members of different gangs who would pose themselves as policemen to people on telephone and extort money from them, saying they had in their custody some of their relatives and if they wanted to see them free they would have to grease their palms, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During initial investigation, it came to light that they had minted over Rs1 million through such practices.

The cyber crime team also recovered cellphones from them.

Those who were taken into custody from Jhang, not far away from Faisalabad, were Muhammad Muneer, Ansar Abbas, Amir, Muhammad Imran, and Muhammad Aslam.

Case has been registered against all the suspects while further investigation is underway.
