15 flights cancelled as fog disrupts flights’ operation again

Dense fog that again engulfed large swathes of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Islamabad badly disrupted the flights’ operation at the country’s airports on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As many as 15 flights were cancelled while three were diverted to other airports after fog considerably reduced visibility in and around Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan airports.

A private airline’s flight from Jeddah to Multan PA-871 had to be diverted to Karachi airport due to fog.

Similarly, Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flights from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar, PK-218, and Dubai to Peshawar, PK-284, were made to land at Islamabad airport.

Likewise, ER-407, a private airline’s flight from Sharjah to Islamabad and Manchester to Islamabad flight were cancelled.   

Two more flights of a private airline ER-807 and ER-808, from Islamabad to Riyadh, were also cancelled.

ER 540 and ER-541, from Islamabad to Quetta, had to be cancelled as well.

Lahore to Dubai flight ER-724 and a flight to China, YG-9147, could not take off either.

Similarly, PA-811, Multan to Dubai flight of a private airline, was also cancelled.

Likewise, the national flag carrier’s two flights from Karachi to Quetta PK-310 and PK-311 were also cancelled.

Another PIA flight from Karachi to Lahore PK-304 and a private airline’s flight ER-520 were also cancelled.

ER-503, from Karachi to Islamabad, and a flight from China to Karachi YG-9143 were cancelled.

As many as 300 national and international flights have so far been cancelled in the first nine days of the New Year, 2024.

Lahore airport

Dense fog in and around Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport has again disrupted the flights’ operation.

SereneAir’s flight from Jeddah ER-1822 will reach Lahore after a delay by 14 hours.

Similarly, ER-522, the airline’s flight from Karachi, will land at the airport after a five-hour delay.

ER-1821, from Lahore to Jeddah, is also delayed by 14 hours.

Likewise, Airblue’s Dubai-bound flight PA-410 will take off after a delay by one-and-a-half-hour.

SereneAir’s flight ER-523, from Lahore to Karachi, will take off after a delay by five hours.
