Irregularities of Rs 2b spotted in Balochistan’s financial affairs

Irregularities of more than Rs 2 billion have been detected in the government expenditure of Balochistan, an audit report said on Saturday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Auditor General Pakistan reviewed the budget of the government of Balochistan for the financial year 2019-20 and found that Rs 1.05 billion was spent in various departments for the payment of allowances without budget allocation.
During the budget audit for the year 2018-19, irregularities of Rs 98 crores were also detected.
The audit report revealed that the government of Balochistan distributed over Rs 98 crores against different projects without budget allocation.
The audit report held weak financial administrative control as one of the major reasons for the financial irregularities. There is corruption and irregularity of huge amounts of money from the public treasury in Balochistan every year.
