Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is witnessing record inflation.
Talking to media in Lahore on Monday, he said that the assembly highlighted the issue of wheat and sugar crises.
“The assembly raised its voice against sugar and wheat mafia. People are in search of old Pakistan now. There is inflation and unemployment everywhere. Thousands of factories have been locked,” he said.
Hamza, who is also Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that when media tries to hold the government accountable, they call it a mafia.
“They label everyone a mafia who dare to raise voice against this government and injustices. They will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.”
The opposition leader further said that PML-N had the highest number of seats despite rigged elections.
“We got the highest number of seats despite rigging in general elections of 2018. PTI’s government has done nothing for people. They are taking credit of old projects,” he added.
He stated that the prices of petroleum products were reduced by 30% all around the world. Criticizing the government, he said that PTI is resorting to revenge politics.
“When they [governement] have no allegation or proof against anyone, they charge them with assets beyond income cases,” he said.
