An election tribunal has ordered re-elections at 16 polling stations in PB-44, nullifying the victory of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate, Mir Ubaidullah Gorgage.
The verdict was delivered by Justice Abdullah Baloch, who declared Gorgage’s success in the Balochistan Assembly elections invalid.
As a result, Obaidullah Gorgage is no longer a member of the provincial assembly.
The decision came in response to a challenge filed by National Party's Atta Muhammad Bangalzai, who contested Gorgage's election victory.
Mir Ubaidullah Gorgage is a Pakistani politician from Quetta District. As per the previous result of the PB-44 Quetta-VII in the 2024 General Elections, he secured 7125 votes while his runner-up was Atta Muhammad Bungalzai of the National Party who secured 6385 votes.
