The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday directed former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan to submit his reply in writing in connection with the code of conduct violation during electioneering in NA-45, Kurram before the next hearing of the case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A five-member bench of the ECP, headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, heard the case.

Barrister Gauhar Khan, representing Imran in the court, said his client was not given much to submit his reply in the case. “We received notice just two days ago, on October 30, 2022.

An interesting dialogue took place between PTI chairman’s counsel and Justice (r) Ikramullah of the ECP on the occasion.

The latter asked Barrister Gauhar, “Will Imran ever appear before us?”

Barrister replied in affirmative, and said but that was not the case in which he could be summoned.

Concurring with Imran’s counsel, the CEC said certainly that was not a contempt case in which former prime minister could be summoned.

Later, the ECP adjourned hearing of the case until November 7.
