September rains to bring more worries for Sindh, Balochistan

Re-entry of monsoon winds to hit coastal areas from mid-September with more than normal rains

As the countrywide devastation caused by the deadly floods was not enough, the Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted the re-entry of monsoon winds in the coastal areas of Sindh from mid-September, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Monsoon winds are likely to re-enter southern parts of the country including Balochistan too in September.

Sindh and Balochistan may receive more than normal rains in September too, the Met Office predicted. However, the intensity of rains will not be like July and August.

According to the weather experts, 80 percent of the monsoon rains have already fallen.

According to the weather experts, the monsoon season may continue till the last week of September or the first week of October.

This is a forecast for long-term and prone to change.

The Met Office, however, reported that the weather for now will stay dry and hot in many parts of the country.

Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and adjoining areas.

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain may occur at isolated places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

Past 24-hour weather

Hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain occurred in Bagrote and Garhidupatta.

Yesterday's Recorded Highest Maximum Temperature’s (°C): Noor Pur Thal 41, Dalbandin, Nokkundi and Sibbi 40.
