FPSC Chairman Maroof Afzal dies from coronavirus

Senior bureaucrat Maroof Afzal, chairman-designate of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), passed away on Thursday.
He was suffering from coronavirus and had been under treatment at a military hospital in Rawalpindi for the last couple of days. He was earlier working as FPSC member and was named chairman of FPSC on November 13. He contracted coronavirus soon after he was named FPSC chairman therefore he could not take oath of his office.
