It has been revealed that a loss of millions of rupees has been incurred to the national exchequer in the name of an ongoing joint session of the Parliament, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources have revealed that despite the fact that the members of the National Assembly and the officers and employees of the Assembly Secretariat were not present in the session, but still they were given the TADA and session allowance.

The date of the joint session of the Parliament is extended every month. The session does not take place, but the Assembly Secretariat has sent millions of rupees bill for session allowance of the officers and employees to the AGPR.

Sources have said that the AGPR has paid millions under the head of bills payment to the secretariat during the first six months.

Sources further reveal that Senate Chairman Sadiq Sinjrani has refused to grant joint session allowance to the Senate employees.

Following the refusal of Senate Secretariat, the AGPR has stopped the payment of bills and allowances to the Assembly Secretariat after raising objections to these bills.

The AGPR said when the Senate employees are not claiming this allowance then why the National Assembly employees are claiming it.

According to sources, the MNAs get Rs7,000 daily under the head of TADA while assembly employees get Rs400 daily allowance and the session allowance is equal to basic salary.

Sources said that millions have been doled out under the head of the allowance.

When contacted, the Assembly Secretariat has refused to comment.
