Students continued to hold protest demonstrations on Saturday against the proposed privatisation of Government Gordon College, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

The protesters were demanding the Punjab government immediately stop the privatisation plan of the historical college. The protesters blocked Murree Road and chanted slogans against privatisation.

The students started a protest march and while passing through Liaquat Road, they reached Murree Road where they staged a sit-in causing a traffic blockade.

The students ended the sit-in after three years after negotiations with Director Colleges Sher Ahmad Satti and the district administration officials led by Assistant Commissioner Shagufta Jabeen.

Addressing the students on the occasion of ending the protest, Director Colleges Sher Ahmed Sati assured the students that a legal course will be taken to save their college.

After ending the protest, Murree Road was opened for traffic again after over three hours.
