IPP leader Firdous Ashiq Awan does it again, slaps police officer

An FIR has been registered against Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, who is more famous for her extra-political actions than her politics, at Saddar police station of Sialkot for slapping a police officer on the election day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to the case registered on the complaint of ASI Amjad, the cop was performing duty at Gannan Kalan school in NA-70 when IPP spokesman Firdous Ashiq not only slapped him but also used derogatory words about him.
In August 2023, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan had also subjected her maid to torture and hurled abuses at her. She was a special assistant to the Punjab chief minister when the incident occurred. A video showing Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan saying she slapped the maid for telling a lie went viral.
In June 2021, she made headlines as a clip showed her getting into a physical altercation with PPP leader Qadir Khan Mandokhail and hurling threats and abuses at him. Mandokhail had approached the police to register a case against Firdous Ashiq Awan for trying to hit him during a live TV show. He also moved the court to get the case registered as. according to him, the police did not heed his complaint.
In another incident of short temper in June 2021, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan during a special visit to Ramazan Bazaar set up at Jinnah Stadium Sialkot, scolded Assistant Commissioner Sonia Sadaf for failing to control the sale of substandard items in Ramazan bazaars.
The SACM took stern notice of the sale of substandard goods and told AC Sialkot that it was her duty to check the quality of the goods. “You are getting paid for the work and it is your duty to keep a check on the things here,” Awan shouted at AC Sialkot.
The Assistant Commissioner Sialkot tried to clear her position on the matter but Firdous Ashiq Awan continued shouting at her. The AC then asked Firdous to behave, but all her requests went in vain. In retaliation, the AC left the place in anger.
The video showing Firdous shouting at the assistant commission went viral on social media within no time.
