The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday expressed mistrust in the assets’ details of former Balochistan chief minister Sanaullah Zehri, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the case, the ECP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) member remarked that the total amount in Sanaullah Zehri’s account was Rs11 crore in 2020.
“According to the records, Sanaullah Zehri bought a bungalow in Khayaban-e-Qasim with Rs11 crore in in 2021. Where did Sanaullah Zehri get this money from to buy the house?” he questioned.
“Where did and from whom Sanaullah Zehri buy the dollars?” he added.
The lawyer told the ECP KP member that the dollars had been bought from the open market.
At this, the ECP KP member said that buying $1.8 million from the open market was a crime.
The ECP, however, reserved the decision on the scrutiny of the assets’ details.
