Renowned cricket coach Mickey Arthur has refused to accept the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s offer to become full-time head coach of the national cricket team, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to the sources, former Pakistani coach Mickey Arthur has expressed his interest in becoming a consultant to the national team, but PCB rejected Mickey Arthur's offer.

The South African coach currently has a three-year contract with the English county Derbyshire.

The new body of the Pakistan Cricket Board is in search of a full-time specialized head coach for the national team who lost the home series against England recently.

Newly-appointed PCB chairman Najam Sethi had hinted at hiring a foreign coach for the team as the contracts of Saqlain Mushtaq and Shaun Tait, Pakistan's current head and bowling coach are going to expire on February 9.

Arthur had earlier coached the national team between 2016 and 2019, during which Pakistan also won the Champions Trophy.

PCB offered Mickey Arthur the post of head coach again, but he had expressed his interest to become a consultant for three events including the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.

Now, the PCB has to find another coach as the chances of Mickey Arthur becoming the head coach ended.
