ECP releases 145 party electoral symbols

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sent the electoral symbols of political parties to the returning officers.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the commission sent a letter to the returning officers across the country. The commission sent the symbols of 145 political parties and asked the officers to allot party candidates relevant symbols.

The names of more than a dozen political parties, including Tehreek-e-Insaaf, are not included in the list of electoral symbols. The symbols of these political parties have been withheld due to the non-conduct of intra-party elections.

A list of separate election symbols for independent candidates was also sent to the returning officers. Party election symbols should not be allotted to independent candidates, it stressed.
