Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area following reports of militant presence, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Sunday.
According to the Pak Army's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the operation, six terrorists were killed and six others were injured.
The ISPR said in a statement that the security forces targeted the militants’ hideout, seizing a cache of weapons and ammunition.
The eliminated militants were involved in several acts of terrorism against security forces and civilians.
Following the operation, a sanitisation effort was conducted to ensure the area was cleared of any remaining threats.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have praised security forces for their recent intelligence-based operation against militants in North Waziristan.
President Zardari commended the bravery and professionalism of the security forces, acknowledging their skilful conduct during the mission.
PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s national commitment to eradicating terrorism, expressing confidence that Pakistan’s valiant forces will continue their operations to dismantle terrorist elements.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the security forces for their swift action, recognising their commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
“We are proud of our brave security forces,” Naqvi stated, emphasising the nation's determination to not allow terrorists to find refuge anywhere in Pakistan.
The interior minister affirmed the government’s commitment, alongside public support, to eliminate terrorism completely.
