Massive reshuffle of officers in interior ministry amidst anti-corruption drive

Caretaker Minister for Interior Affairs Sardar Sarfraz Khan Bugti has implemented a sweeping transfer and posting of officers within the Ministry of Interior amidst corruption reports, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
As per details, the reshuffle also covers actions related to Afghan visa processing and arms license scrutiny.
Five officers were expelled from the ministry, while three officers from the minister's staff were dismissed from their roles due to their corruption.
The restructuring included the removal of the director, deputy secretary, and section officers from their respective posts. Additionally, five officers were transferred from the Ministry of Interior to the Establishment Division.
The ministry also sent back the DG of Media to the Ministry of Information.
Ashkar Khan has been appointed as the new director for the minister.
The administrative restructuring came following the release of an audit report scrutinizing the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
Moreover, reports from sensitive agencies played a pivotal role in the decision-making process, according to sources.
Khurshid Ahmed, Deputy Secretary has been directed to report to the establishment division, while the services of Farhan Ahmed, Muhammad Riaz, and Abdul Razzaq Usman Shah have also been directed to report to the establishment division.
Syed Muhammad Ali was appointed as the new Deputy Secretary Admin and Dr. GM Mahmudi has been posted as Section Officer at the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The reshuffle extended to Section Officer ECL Mohammad Azim and several others. An official notification has been issued in this regard.
