Pakistani rupee's rise against US dollar steady in interbank market

The Pakistani rupee’s steady rise against the US dollar was on course on Tuesday also in the interbank market as it took its streak to 24, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the rupee appreciated by Rs1.14 against the greenback and ended the dat at Rs280,51.

On Monday, the Pakistani rupee went up by 0.37% to settle at Rs281.65.

This is one of the longest appreciation runs seen by the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar in the interbank market, and came in large part due to the authorities’ crackdown on dollar smuggling and hoarding of foreign currency as well as reforms in the Exchange Companies’ sector.

The rupee has recovered to Rs280.49 after falling to its lowed record of Rs307.10.
