Punjab to have bodies to address public complaints against departments

The Punjab government has decided to constitute special committees to redress public grievances related to various departments, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to sources, the step has been taken to provide relief to the complainants approaching the high court against the government departments.
They said the Punjab government made the decision on the recommendation of Advocate General Khalid Ishaq who told the officials concerned about the mechanism of these bodies.
A complainant will be provided with a computerized receipt and the committee concerned will redress the grievance within 15 working days.
The complainant will be free to move the court if the committee fails to redress the grievance in due time, the insiders said, adding that on approaching the Lahore High Court, the court will be informed about the decision taken by the committee concerned.
These bodies are being formed to redress public grievances and save people‘s time, money and resources.
