The country is in the grip of severe cold and the experts foresee the wave will persist, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

In the northern regions, intermittent snowfall continues.

Balochistan is under the grip of extreme cold due to freezing winds

Snow blanketed the Tirah Velly, grinding life to a halt 

Rain in Bara, Jamrud and Landi Kotal added to winter woes.

Roads are blocked due to snowfall in northern areas. The plains of Punjab remained in the grip of fog. Poor visibility threw air and road traffic out of gear.

In the federal capital, the authorities have revised school timings to avert harsh weather hazards.

According to a notification on Tuesday, the school timings are 8:30 am-2:30pm. On Friday, the school time will be 8:30 am-12:30 pm. 

Moreover, the authorities let students wear sweaters or jackets of any colour in addition to the uniform due to cold weather and inflation.
