Country in grip of cold dry weather

Pakistan continued to be in the grip of cold wave and the weather will remain chilly and dry in most of the areas of the country during the next 24 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to Metrological Department, severe cold in mountainous areas was reported as temperature in Skardu was recorded minus 11 degree Celsius while in Quetta and Kalat the mercury was at 5 degrees and 3 degrees in Malam Jabba and Dir.
Despite the chilly weather in Lahore, air pollution did not budge and the city of gardens also ranked second most polluted city in the world.
According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature of the provincial capital is recorded 9 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature is expected to be 5 while the maximum is expected to be 20 degrees Celsius.
The humidity ratio in the air is recorded 70 percent while the wind speed has been recorded at 5 kilometers per hour.
According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore is ranked first in Pakistan in terms of pollution as the average smog rate in the city is recorded 273.
On the other hand, in the city of Quaid, the weather is cold and dry and the current temperature in the city is recorded 14 degrees.
According to Metrological Department weather is likely to get colder in coming days.
As per Air Quality Index, Karachi ranked 11th among the world's most polluted cities while it ranked 6th among Pakistan's most polluted cities and amount of particulate matter in the air hits record 166 meters.
