Army, Navy gear up relief operation for rain-hit

The personnel of Pakistan Army and Navy have geared up their relief operation to help rain-affected people in Balochistan and Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

In its relief and rescue operation, the Pakistan Navy divers rescued 10 people who were stuck in Lyari stream of Karachi.

On the request of PDMA Sindh, a number of Navy team were busy in draining water from different localities of Karachi.

Meanwhile, Army troops and Rangers were also busy in relief efforts as unprecedented and unexpected rain spell hit Karachi especially its southern areas.

During the last six to eight hours, only 106 mm of rain was recorded in few areas of Karachi. All Nullahs including Gujjar, Orangi and Mehmoodabad were running at their optimum capacity. Water will recede in due course of time. 

In this critical moment, besides CBC and DHA, Pakistan Army and Rangers were also busy in relief efforts.
